Those who were attacked near the Chapel:
I apologize for my actions last night (results of some sort of experiment, I believe? My memory is foggy at best), though the words fall flat. If there is a way I can assist you in healing any injuries you might have sustained, leave a word. I'll find you. Perhaps what I was meant to guard will help.

No one is immune to their manipulations.

Every other night they take patients away and do something with them. No one has seen fit to say exactly what was done, but they are being held in what look like operating rooms.
The other nights, like last night, they take patients away and do something to them, to convince us that we are their enemies. Not only this, but they also restore any lost abilities to those individuals, making some of them incredibly dangerous opponents that none of us, in our limited state, could hope to scratch.
My only other knowledge on this is that, as far as I've been able to discern, they are forbidden from killing us. This may not be true in every situation, however.

On your last note, I believe that to be correct. I remember having that particular order drilled into my mind, even when it should have been easy to ignore.
The actual operation is rather vague, but everything afterwards is quite clear.

I saw a trained assassin intentionally pull a killing blow back so as not to kill one of my men. Your words help confirm that it is likely a common instruction, if not a universal one.

Strange that it would be more than mere suggestion. One would think with all the dangers here, there would be enjoyment in the upper rings over more causalties.

Many people vanish without a trace, and we know they didn't escape; however, few times have people actually ~died~ here.
It's almost like they keep us alive until we no longer interest them, and then they quickly discard us.

Having endured something similar to what you did, I agree. It is insulting, and demeaning. And entirely infuriating. Although now, I am much thankful for the order not to kill. Those they unleash the nights they control patients are often the most volatile and/or dangerous and could cause much... damage otherwise.
Still, that only eases the mind a little, when we have the full memory of what we did accomplish in those hours.

The memories - and the order to not kill - just make it seem like more of a game. I'd almost prefer not remembering any part of it.
[strikeouts crossed out really heavily, but lol telepathy]

I'm a lot of things. It depends on what you're specifically thinking about.

Why?

For the same reason I knew who you were through writing.

...That doesn't make that sentence any less confusing.

Sorry about your nose. If I ever come across some, they're all yours.
[crossed out very messily but thoroughly]
Are you one of those people from the level below?no subject

I'm afraid not. I'm not one of your "terminators", after all.
