Those who were attacked near the Chapel:

I apologize for my actions last night (results of some sort of experiment, I believe? My memory is foggy at best), though the words fall flat. If there is a way I can assist you in healing any injuries you might have sustained, leave a word. I'll find you. Perhaps what I was meant to guard will help.

I don't know how long you've been here, but most of us are accustomed to it and will harbor you no grudge.

No one is immune to their manipulations.

So this isn't bullshit? They made him do all that?

I would not be surprised. This was the night for it.

Every other night they take patients away and do something with them. No one has seen fit to say exactly what was done, but they are being held in what look like operating rooms.

The other nights, like last night, they take patients away and do something to them, to convince us that we are their enemies. Not only this, but they also restore any lost abilities to those individuals, making some of them incredibly dangerous opponents that none of us, in our limited state, could hope to scratch.

My only other knowledge on this is that, as far as I've been able to discern, they are forbidden from killing us. This may not be true in every situation, however.

So far it has been, but one never knows in this place if it might change.

I saw a trained assassin intentionally pull a killing blow back so as not to kill one of my men. Your words help confirm that it is likely a common instruction, if not a universal one.

Casualties are a strange thing here.

Many people vanish without a trace, and we know they didn't escape; however, few times have people actually ~died~ here.

It's almost like they keep us alive until we no longer interest them, and then they quickly discard us.

Perhaps it is a hassle to arrange some of our arrivals here. Patients do seem to come from such a wide variety of sources, after all.

Having endured something similar to what you did, I agree. It is insulting, and demeaning. And entirely infuriating. Although now, I am much thankful for the order not to kill. Those they unleash the nights they control patients are often the most volatile and/or dangerous and could cause much... damage otherwise.

Still, that only eases the mind a little, when we have the full memory of what we did accomplish in those hours.
