. . . Federal training? Does anyone know what that's about?

And does anyone have more information on what exactly happened to Landel?

Maybe they're using something from back before the Institute actually opened. So it's like a training exercise for the new staff, and for people to see what'll be going on.

'Course then the question stands: Why is it necessary t'use an ancient recording?

That's where I got stuck, too. I mean, normally they'd use Nurse Lydia for this kind of thing, right?

Maybe the zombies got her.

[identity profile] thatdamnedninja.livejournal.com 2009-08-09 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Could be, but we can't really go makin' assumptions like that without some evidence.

I know, I was being a smart alec. More likely Landel wants us to think they were eaten by zombies last night.

Yeah, but what does he get out of it? Seems pointless.

An enemy you think is dead, or even one you just can't locate, is more dangerous. If Landel takes himself off the radar, there are things he can do more easily than he can from behind his desk.

Honestly, I think we should be more concerned with the fact that if Alec Doyle was indeed one of the revenants that attacked everyone last night, it means that we have no allies in this fight. Or at least, no allies we can rely on to control their messy, imprecise weaponry.

That's not a big surprise.

Good point.

Very much agreed.

This assumes that Alec Doyle was ever an ally of ours to begin with.

I agree with this statement. The looming threat of the undead is nothing new, though the situation is hardly improved by the notion that those bitten may become infected.

That would make sense if we could get to him somehow. The thing is, we can't and he knows it. All of this might be pretty interesting to us, but so far we've got no way to do a damn thing about it. He's got no reason to hide from us. So who's he putting on the show for, if anyone?

[identity profile] pleading-ngri.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. If there's a second group after him, aside from Doyle's people, they've taken their sweet time in actually doing anything.

Honestly, I don't have my heart set on this being a sham. I was just saying that there are a lot of reasons someone would have for faking his own death, and it's probably hasty to discount a possibility just because the little peek we're getting through the keyhole doesn't make sense.

He did mention other groups; his superiors, other countries, soldiers. Could be anyone that we'd never need to see or hear about.

I don't think the entire thing's a sham, but I'm not buying the homoerotic soap opera between Landel and Doyle. I'd rather assume we've got no allies than get stabbed in the back later on is all.

If only he had been, that would be a gift in and of itself.

[identity profile] thatdamnedninja.livejournal.com 2009-08-09 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
If that's the case, I'm gonna kill him twice!

I've been here a while, an' they haven't made a 'mistake' yet. Faulty wiring or no, somethin's up and I don't like the feel of it. 'Specially how 'special' last night was. Things're getting serious.

[identity profile] tartaros-avatar.livejournal.com 2009-08-10 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
They have made many mistakes, including a case of faulty wiring in the intercom before.

Not to mention the blood and fog at the end of the night before. It was as though it was an omen.
