As far as chemicals... anything that you couldn't get in a kitchen would be useful. How much I need depends mainly on what you have and how big a gift you were looking to make. :)

Might I ask what chemicals you are specifically looking for? And what "other oddities and services" are acceptable for payment?

Mostly, just things you couldn't get ransacking a kitchen - purified acid and base chemicals, -ites and -ides, preferrably in an assortment rather than just one or two kinds. Haven't got anything specific in mind in this area. As for alternative means of payment, I left it vague mainly because I still don't know what might pop up. Any objects you find that don't fit the setting of a hospital would probably work. Escorts and errand-running, tutoring in alternative sciences (I know there are allegedly some alchemists here)... if you have a special skill, there's a good chance it'd be of help!

Right now, semisweet. Give me a day or two, and I should also have milk chocolate and whatever additives (nuts, etc) you prefer. White chocolate or other "special" varieties would be harder, but not impossible. :)
