I'm especially interested in the mimics and golden monsters mentioned here (http://community.livejournal.com/damned_bulletin/177546.html), as well as anything that seems to alter a person's senses, but anything other than the usual "decaying giant animal" ensemble should be enough.

Doesn't say anything about the smell, which I suppose isn't as important for people who aren't trying to actively find the things, but I can pick out live metal easy enough.
