I don't like musicals. I do like both Rome and Holidays.
[Rome is noisy and smelly and has terrible traffic, and he couldn't care less about holidays, but the important factors are that Roman Holiday does not feature spontaneous musical numbers and he has a headache.]
Vote for the one where they escape the evil fascist dictatorship in the dead of night at the end.
[Added as an afterthought.] So Sound of Music.
[Added as an after-afterthought.] Not that I know a ton about musicals or anything. Or secretly think Julie Andrews is the best person ever. Totally not.
Since the others are English titles from the west, I wouldn't know what they're about. The only thing I know for sure is that the "Sound of Music" won a few awards, so it must be a good movie.
They do. There are many different categories that a movie can be nominated for, such as acting and costume designs, but I think the only award that most movies try to win is the "best movie of the year" award.
Yeah, sorry, I don't know about the actual story of the movie. I voted for it, since I'm unfamiliar with Christianity and would like to hear a little more.
All I know is it has to do with a man dying. And... Christmas?
As someone already pointed out, the three that are not Roman Holiday are musicals. While I wouldn't say any of those fit the genres I was particularly interested in before I joined the military, I would say that I'm up for a musical today. I chose The Sound of Music. It's about a family that is brought together during a time of political struggle and war that arises around them.
Singing in the Rain has a love triangle, and it's about a small group of people attempting to create a good movie despite a lot of difficulties. Jesus Christ Superstar is a creative retelling of the story of a man named Jesus, a prominent figure in one of Earth's religions. It's more [pentaps] energetic than the others, I would say. Roman Holiday is a romantic comedy with some popular names taking the head leads. It's about a princess who longs for a common life and indulges in her whims on a trip to Rome, falling in love with a reporter in the process.
I'm not sure what you're really interested in, Anise, but hopefully this can help you decide. All of them are known to be classics in their own right. I'm sure whatever is chosen will be entertaining.
Not really my hobby. I've only seen Roman Holiday and The Sound of Music before. These are all considered classics on Earth, though, so I'm pretty familiar with the main plots.
I'm pretty sure you would probably enjoy most of these, Anise. If you don't get around to voting because of indecision, just try and enjoy what does happen to play.

Some of Rome's fountains are quite old. Picturesque. There's a river. The city is almost three thousand years old.

[After-after-afterthought.] I blame Wallace.

I guess I'll take your word for it. I'd never heard of them.

I still don't know which to vote for... but thanks! Now I kinda know what they're all about.
