So, I guess we shouldn't act like this is not going on. Some of us are sick, and by the sound of it, things are going to get worse.

I'm guessing that some people are already looking for a cure? If you're interested in trying to find a way to stop this thing in its tracks, you should respond here! Because if those people all put their heads together, we might be able to beat this thing.

I don't know that much about this sort of stuff, but I thought it would be good to get people talking so we can work this out as a team. After all, if this goes where we think it's going, it'll be a bad situation for everyone, right?

Especially if we do all take the effort to think about it together. And when it comes to "medication" at least we're in a place with plenty of supplies for experimenting with such things. If nothing else, that's a good start.

That's true! Though I guess experimenting could get you in trouble, too. Still, it's worth a shot, isn't it?

Experimenting only truly gets one in trouble when done stupidly.

Ha, yes. We wouldn't want to do anything carelessly. But if there are others knowledgeable in what's available and what we're dealing with, it might work. ...Though it's admittedly a long shot.

Perhaps considering both supplies and symptoms is a place to begin?

Maybe. Although I guess we should also have some back-up plans worked out. If things get really bad, how are we supposed to deal with it?

A good question. If we're really to take certain people at their exact word... we might have to consider the option of quarantining people at night.

As unwelcome as this may be: who exactly are you seeking to protect with a... quarantine?

Whoever those people might end up attacking.

I would also urge you to consider that such a thing tends to make for... sitting targets if there might be those of a mind to act in that way.

There is a cost and benefit to every decision. So long as you are comfortable with the costs.

Though I would caution against doing so with too much haste. The course of the... illness is still unknown.

It's just one option. And we have to consider as many of them as we can.

Ideally, locking people in their rooms would keep all parties safe. I should hope others wouldn't take it as an opportunity to do something stupid and needless.

It's naive to think that even a majority will act nobly when faced with something they might consider a monster.

Honestly, I don't think that. People don't act like themselves when they think they're in danger. But if it comes to that and we must isolate those who might become dangerous, I would think that would be enough to satisfy everyone.

Do you really think people might go that far and attack them? That would be like breaking into a prison to beat up a sentenced inmate.

The petty violence of others has long since ceased to surprise me.

If people become so scared that they think about attacking others, then they just need to be reassured. But that kind of panic is extreme. People know better than that.
