I don't see a better alternative, unfortunately. Youkai are just as cruel. A hallmark of thinking creatures, perhaps.

Well duh! The alternative is being a pony! Ponies aren't cruel! Sure some are kinda rude. Some might even mess up your whole childhood and force you to leave Junior Speedsters before you're even done. But like 99% of the other ponies I've ever met have been totally cool!

Anyway for now wouldn't the best thing to do just be to not be cruel? For both of us I mean.
