When the doors led to places they shouldn't have, Landel gave out rings that transported people to the last place they'd been when they broke the gems decorating each ring. Locations could be reset with blood.

Ah, I see! I think it's just that last part I didn't know. The breaking the gem sounds familiar. I guess blood's kind of fittingly sinister for Landel. Yuck.

Anything else, like limits and such?

To my knowledge, no. I'd ask around more to be sure if I were you, though. I haven't had the chance to experiment, but others may have.
