Though, it would be really helpful if we could get as much information on who we saw as possible. Some pieces only fit when we know who we're looking at.
Also, Kenren-han, I know this is probably a bad time, but I'd like to talk to you if at all possible.

Homura, were you personally acquainted with the victim?

His name was Genjyo Sanzo. I believe Okita warned you about him. He was after my life, hence the caution we've been taking with room numbers lately.
He's from the same world and Kenren and I, from closer to my time. He and I were enemies--I took the things most precious to him to achieve my goals.

Yes, we do. We need to get a better picture of the victim so that we'll be able to further whittle down the suspect field. You understand, I'm sure.

Whatever it takes. He was my enemy, but I've respected Genjyo Sanzo's spirit for a very long time.

We'll do our best to find his murderer, I swear.

Those are some okay basics, but we need a bit more than that. Psychological profile? Weapon of choice? Did he carry a gun, by the way? Was he prone to picking fights? How experienced of a fighter was he? Anyone with a grudge against him?
Also, we may be looking for someone with gunshot wounds. Anyone who comes to you asking to be connected with a healer, let me or Kudou know.

He used a gun as well the Maten Sutra: one of the founding scriptures of Heaven and Earth. He had it here, but it's power is likely negated. He refused to yield to anyone's will, even if they were obviously stronger. And he also wouldn't hesitate to fire first, at an enemy.
Among mortals, the founding scriptures are only given to the most powerful. Additionally, there were countless demons after his life daily, not to mention some gods. So I'd say he had his share of experience in combat, yes.
As far as I am aware, no one from our world here had a grudge against him. But I don't know what enemies or allies he had.

Yeah, it is. The better we can understand how he got his wounds, the easier we can figure out the type who would/could do this to him.

He was also a smoker. I see it mentioned quite a bit on the common board, so perhaps it holds some relevance.
