Who here knows the cartoon 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'?

Instead of trying to figure it out on your own, how 'bout just, y'know, asking the one who can do the healing? What d'you wanna know?

I suppose that...is a possibility, yes. I didn't want to bother you, that's all.

But if you're offering - how exactly does it work? The last time I was healed, it required physical contact. Do you read the injured person's body?

Pfft.

The ability itself is… um, well, it's kind of weird, trying to explain Limit Breaks. It's sort of like this: physical pain and emotions like anger, frustration, excitement, the thrill of battle, the desire to survive and etc. build up, making it easier to tap into more and more powerful techniques. Sadness and apathy and all that other stuff does the opposite. I'm pretty sure that I've only got two out of seven of mine here, which kind of sucks, but that's beside the point.

Anyway, Clear Tranquil. That's my healing ability. It doesn't require touching, nope, and… uh, nope to that other thing, too. Since it's primarily used directly in the field, both of those things would be awkward and unnecessary and besides, I wouldn't know how to go about 'reading somebody's body' like that even if you paid me.

The whole point behind it is to heal somebody's physical injuries enough so that they've got a better chance of surviving than they have of dying, that's all. There's probably a limit on range, just like there's a limit on how many people I can use it on at once, but you could plaster yourself to the ceiling while I sat on the floor, and it'd still work okay.

This is very different than the last time I had someone treat me.

Thank you, Yuffie-san. You have no idea how much you've helped.

It's a bit of an oddball, 'specially when compared to the rest of my techniques. But even healing people with Materia doesn't usually require actually touching them. What happened last time?

The person held my hand and the injuries began to heal themselves. She held on until I was well enough to move on my own.

You'll be glad to hear that I'd rather eat minced brick than hold your hand, in that case. :) So, hey, are you the one Homura's gonna ask me to heal tonight?

[identity profile] notachick.livejournal.com 2009-05-22 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
:( Oh, but I wanted to hold yours. My heart is broken, Yuffie-chan.

Perhaps another time. I was asked, but refused on the grounds that I did not know what the healing entailed. I believe you'll be seeing different people tonight.

To offer my hand is to offer my soul, a fragile thing of snow-flurry and fallen leaves. Your heart will be mended! But, alas, not by me.

I'll keep the offer open for you.

Waiting forever
This hand will never know you
But will know sorrow.

♥ Thank you.

To one such as myself, sorrow is a most intimate acquaintance! In its absence, my heart would weep.

[identity profile] notachick.livejournal.com 2009-05-22 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
And yet in its presence, your heart will never learn joy.

Without sorrow, joy is meaningless.

[identity profile] notachick.livejournal.com 2009-05-23 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
And without joy, sorrow becomes unbearable.

[identity profile] thatdamnedninja.livejournal.com 2009-05-23 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
And y'know what that means, right?

[identity profile] notachick.livejournal.com 2009-05-23 02:06 pm (UTC)(link)
What does it mean?

[identity profile] thatdamnedninja.livejournal.com 2009-05-23 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That we're long overdue a party!

[identity profile] notachick.livejournal.com 2009-05-23 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Then we've really gotta do something about this.
