Oppenheimer.
I have a feeling I'm being made fun of.Interesting name. What's its origin? :)--A.F. II

Construct any atomic bombs, lately?

Atomic bombs? Do you need to ask such a thing? Genius sees the answer before the question.

Normally people who tack 'Esquire' onto the ends of their names have parents who don't feel the need to steal from every single great mind of the era.
...right. So I'm guessing, from a common sense point of view, that the answer is no. Considering your name is Marcellius and not 'J. Robert', and most scientific geniuses don't feel the need to quote themselves.

At least the people who named me knew the gender of my namesakes.

And I'm sure you were up all last night thinking up that one, Mr. Marcellius~ Eckhart~ LeDoux~ Leibniz~ Oppenheimer~. Oh, forgive me. Esquire. I haven't the slightest clue as to how to answer that slight! Oh dear, oh my, what shall I do? A mean man called me a girl!
Oh, nurse! Pass me my handkerchief! I must sob now!

I'm sure you'll survive. Someone with your experience should be used to repressing their emotions to accomplish their higher goals.
no subject
Oh? You have experience in this as well, then? Of course you do, silly me. After all, with that hair and that androgynous name... We are so alike, it's uncanny! ♥

I do have experience. Enough to recognize experience as a merit, rather than a fault. I'm sure you'll come around, though. It's in your blood, after all.
no subject
I didn't say anything about it being a fault! We can talk about what it's like to be mistaken for girls, can't we? Learn from each other's pain? Cry on each other's shoulders? Or do you just not like me because I'm too young for you?

I see that you're trying to pull the "I'm a child" card, but you're not the only person who's ever been a smart little brat.
If you're going to engage in this kind of conversation, then accept the consequences and don't go running for an adult when you worry that you've gotten in over your head. Hiding behind your age is pathetic. I learned that long before I turned fourteen.
no subject
And I don't hide behind my age, you just seem to take issue with it. Or an unhealthy interest in it. I'm not sure which anymore, honestly.
Taking advantage of the fact that I am fourteen, though, is not below me. Most nurses think I'm cute--not so much with you, I would guess, considering you're an adult.

Read closely. I wasn't the one who brought up up your age.
Being cute has never been one of my priorities.
no subject
And do you think I'm idiotic enough to point out my childish argument with you to the whole institute? As amusing as it has been?
Oh, you're referring to the part where I said, "Or do you just not like me because I'm too young for you?" Is that it?
Maybe that's why you have such a lifeless stare?

As far as my tone, I've been addressing you as an equal. If you don't appreciate that, I'm sure I can summon some good, old-fashioned adult condescension, but I've always felt that mutual respect was important during this kind of intellectual sparring.
no subject
Perhaps you weren't outwardly threatening me, but the line between intellectual sparring and intense dislike seemed to be crossed... forgive me if I seemed a bit taken aback in my note following it, but you did severely 'creep me out'.
--A.F. II

I've never paid much attention to that line.

Please expect to report to me later on your involvement in this conversation, and why you deemed it necessary.
Re: (Handwriting disguised)
I know what I'm doing.

Do you really feel the need to question my judgment?
