What would you do if there was a way to bring the dead back to life outside of these walls?

Tried it. It doesn't work.

There are dead living here.

The dead are meant to stay dead. That's why it's a taboo.

And you trust that label?

Or do you say it from your own experience?

My own experience. There is nothing that can be offered that is equal in value to a person's soul.

So would you stop someone else who tried?

I'd think they were a moron, but they can make their own mistakes and find out for themselves.

As long as I don't have to clear up the mess they make afterwards.

The people here aren't actually dead.

But some were, in their own worlds.

I don't really know how it works. All the time travel shit gives me a headache. But the people here aren't really dead. Dead is dead.

So being snatched up from wherever they were right before the chain between body and soul was cut isn't the same as somehow putting that cut fate back together. Least not as far as I know. So bringing them here isn't bringing them back to life, I guess. It's very different from the question you asked.

But if they were to return to their own worlds from the moment they were taken, then even if they weren't yet dead, they would shortly become that way.

Does that fact change your answer? If someone were to prevent that death they face on their return?

I don't know if we can even assume that. I don't know how this stuff works. Like... I'm here now, but the people from my world that come after me said I'm still alive and it's not like I've been telling them about the crazy shit that's been happening here. So who knows.

But no, I guess it wouldn't change the answer even if we knew for sure. It's not like death is the End.

You may not be able to. Others might know differently.

Perhaps not the end of the soul. But it does end many things.

Yeah. It's just all guess work. So until I know differently, I have to go with my gut feeling.

But doesn't everything have to end eventually? A life wouldn't be worth so much if it were eternal.

Are you saying that there's nothing you have that you don't want to end? A person, a relationship, a treasure, something that you wouldn't fight to your very last breath and beyond to keep?

There are a lot of things I will fight to the death to preserve. But if I fail? It's gone. If I die? I'm gone. I wouldn't fight so hard or care so much if that wasn't possible, I guess.

And others might find themselves in that very situation now. To do nothing means they will be gone. But there might be a chance to change that fate.

I can understand that. Still not sure what it has to do with bringing people back from the dead.

Perhaps you will in time.

I really doubt it.
