There was mention of a monster that looks like people you know.

Does it come out during the day?

This place can't bring people back from the dead, can it?

No magic can revive the dead, and even when it does, it's not like they are really with you. You can't fetch them, they fetch you.

As far as I know, there are no monsters during the day.

The dead can also be brought back to life here.

There are ways to bring people back from the dead. They're just not well known, usually difficult to pull off, and almost always a very, very bad idea.

I don't know if anyone's done it here. It's possible, I suppose. I wouldn't put it past whoever runs this place.

Apparently it can.

I'm certain I was dead before I arrived here.

Of course you can't revive the dead! It doesn't work properly no matter what you do, even with the Stone.

It's just something which looks like other people.

Now that could be unfortunate. How will I know it's you when we're meeting up?

You might have to think a little further than just the world you know. Nothing is impossible, but there's usually a price.

Actually, it's quite possible to revive someone from the dead were this person to have intense knowledge on space/time astrophysics and the power to bend the continuum to their will. It does not make the action any less of risk, as taking one from a certain time and placing them in a next has many consequences. Very messy and tricky things to be toying with, but what isn't when you are dealing with the deceased?

How sure are you they were dead?

I've gotten back from what looked dead to everyone else about three times now.

Takes a certain amount of. . . preparation. . . but there's ways.

It doesn't come out during the day.

You're making it too complicated. I can already guess. You remember things this person doesn't, right?

They brought them from their time, you from your time. That's how it works.

In my world, there was a relic which was said to bring the dead back to life. A friend

It worked, but not as expected.

This place seems to be full of impossible things. The dead is but one.

[identity profile] personincharge.livejournal.com 2007-10-02 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
I was shot at nearly point-blank range, so by common sense, I should not be alive. And yet, although I am sure I'm somehow alive, The Sorrow has not followed me here this time, like he has always done before.

Have you interacted with the dead without the use of a medium?

It doesn't matter what face it wears. They can tap into the minds of those whose shapes they've copied, gradually enabling them to assume that person's characteristics in order to fool everybody. Sucks, I know.

My advice - be on your guard. Someone is out of your sight and they show up again later, lacking decent explanation? Keep a distance.

We're cool as long as the sun's up.

Awakening the dead comes with a price.
