[Two notes; posted at the beginning of second shift]

[Posted in her usual handwriting. Strikeouts a single line, legible.]

Last night, I dreamed I had become mechanical again and I fired upon my fellow patients in an upper floor corridor. Three sustained injuries and several others were witness to the attack.

Now please allow me to offer a hypothetical: If you were one of those fired upon, would you try to find it within yourselves to forgive such an act? Were you to know the one attacking you had offered no resistance to the orders they received, would your answer be the same? As for myself, I wonder. It was only a dream and yet I feel forgiveness is not an option. I am was not human in my dream, therefore all apologies and forgiveness benefit no one. A machine can have no real feelings after all. Even if the machine were to find itself turned human the next day.

This is all hypothetical of course. It was just a dream.

[This note has been posted in another area of the bulletin. It is left unsigned, but the handwriting is her typical style.]

Is there anyone with skills in boxing? I find myself quite eager to begin learning the sport. For recreational purposes, of course.

[The strikeouts are almost entirely unreadable.]

You feel forgiveness isn't an option. That's a real feeling.

[Unlike the last note, the one that goes up is neatly printed without any hint of strikeouts.]

Do you really believe that?

No. Do you believe I'd make that mistake?

I dreamt a dream like yours. But I was never a machine in it.

[The strikeouts are almost unreadable again.]
