Practiced spikey handwritten script

I had a dream last night that was set fairly close to the institute. There was an awful screech and then suddenly a person with me was speaking a language I'm not entirely familiar with.

Has anyone else ever had dreams like this? Did anything specifically trigger the shift, if anything? And was the dream tied to the institute in some way?

[An extra note has been tacked onto the end of Recluse's message]

Someone mentioned Dr. Landel featuring in the dream. I find this quite interesting If you've had a dream like this before, was his voice comprehensible, or not? And if you could understand him, what did he say? Did there seem to be any underlying reason or motive that you might have felt was attached to the noise and/or language shift?

Certain kinds of dreams can be common, especially among those living in similar conditions. I'm interested to know more about this one, because it struck me as so odd.

Yeah, that happened to me and a friend last night I had a dream like that too last night! Same screech noise, and both my friend and I couldn't understand each other after. The screech happened at the end of the Head Doctor's announcement over the speakers around midnight. I was too ... [pen taps] preoccupied to catch everything he said, but I'm sure it had to do with him.

No problem.

[agitated scribbles] No... I wasn't. I should have been though! But stuff happened... and that language thing plus waking up soon after didn't help! Landel must have been playing around with us and throwing a wrench into everyone's plans again, as usual...

Yeah, usually my dreams are all in Japanese, but after that weird screech I heard the i a voice speaking in English. I picked up some papers then too, which were also in English.

Yes, I've been learning English for a long time now, but I wouldn't say I'm actually fluent in it or anything.

You mean in English? I'd like to know too, all I remember is "I think that is all" from the first time he spoke, and the second time it was all really fast, so I wasn't able to catch as much. As far as I can tell, he was talking about how making people not understand each other messed up the plans of another... oh, and how the other wasn't a very good "replacement."

I've never had a problem understanding what anyone said in my dreams. Perhaps there was a slight change of his accent, but nothing else.

I did; I didn't know what he was talking about at the time, though, because in my dream I could still understand what he said. I believe that he was pleased that the translation issue prevented another from passing on a message of some kind.

I dreamt about a friend and a witch. I couldn't understand my friend and I don't think she could understand me, but the witch talked to us both at the same time.
