Would anyone happen to know where to get a new [there is a pen blot, as if there was some hesitation] "torch"? Mine seems to have gone out, and I don't know how to fix it.

Well, I'd be willing to shed some lighter on the situation, if you catch my drift.

How about we meet up later and arrange something?

Alrighty, then. How about 4th shift? Assuming neither of us has therapy, of course.

I'm fat and old. I'll introduce myself when we meet.

You probably need new batteries. I was just about to ask about where to find extras myself. Here's hoping we both get a response.

They're what give your torch power. They look like small cylinders with one flat end and one end with a metal nub. Open the end of your torch and the dead batteries will come out. When you find your extra batteries, put them in the same way the dead ones were in before.

Hope that was clear enough. I'm not always that great at explaining things.

Check your desk drawer for a spare set of batteries.

They are cylindrical. When you get back to your room, take your torch and unscrew the back of it. You will see matching cylindrical objects. Follow the diagram shown inside while replacing them. There is also a good chance your roommate will know how to replace them.
