Commander Spock, sir:

Assuming you are familiar with some pr people getting better today, I must report that the Captain is among them. Apparently his name is now 'Bill Shatner', and he felt it necessary to inform me that was his real name. As to why, I am currently uncertain.

He approached me during the designated afternoon meal period, sat across from me, then after calling me by my name, said that he had mistaken me for someone else. Soon after, I realized that he had assumed the life of his counterpart when he asked me if he was 'still hallucinating'.

As of now, I have no further information to report, though if I discover anything new, I will relay it immediately.

I believe he is referring to the actor William Shatner, most noted for playing Captain Kirk on Star Trek.

I don't watch very much sci-fi, I'm not sure why this is ironic either.

I think you're mistaken--he is Captain Kirk, his name is not William Shatner, though he believes that's his name.

Ah, then that's the irony. His name is the same of that as the fictional Captain Kirk, and now he thinks his name is that of the actor who played that character. It's a very strange coincidence--or Landel's sense of humor is more bizarre than I thought.

I had heard the announcements referring to patients who had made a recovery. So long as the Captain is displaying such signs, then it seems that he is no longer fit for duty. I shall endeavor to speak to him personally at the first opportunity.

Yes, sir, understood. I will inform you if anything changes, though at the rate our conversation is going, I don't believe I will be reporting anything.

I will meet you there. I recommend we proceed to the Captain's location quickly, though, in case he decides to investigate why his door is unlocked.
