[in a neat, controlled script]

I am beginning an investigation into this institute. Having only arrived last night, I have several questions I feel must be answered in order to give my investigation a strong base. I am asking for the following:

- A summary of the Institute: its function, the way it works, patients, maps, etc.
- Descriptions of its 'key players': in particular, Martin Landel, the Head Doctor, and Alex Doyle
- A timeline of key events
- Anything else deemed to be important

All information would be appreciated, including notes or theories from other patients. Should the question of trust or authority arise, I will be all too happy to give my badge number.

-- Inspector Lunge (BKA)

[as an after-thought]

Why were the majority people absent fom the Institute last night? Every room I looked into was empty. Is this a regular occurrence?

If you're a new patient, much of that information is usually supplied on the bulletin eventually.

Last night wasn't usual. The majority of patients were stuck in a nearby town.

I know of only two women to be heard over the intercom or radio. There is the head nurse, who sometimes does announcements when the Head Doctor is busy, and someone named Jill who briefly took over giving "help" on the radio after the death of Jack. I don't know if either of these women are who he's referring to.

We were taken to this town - Doyleton - as part of a weekly "field trip." This was my third time going there, but the first instance where we were left there rather than brought here before dark.

The head nurse appears to transform at night like the others do, but retains more of herself - her ability to speak, at least. The second appeared a bit inexperienced at the job she was trying to take over.

The town was literally swarming with the risen dead.

It is no concern of mine whether you believe me or not.

This place is a circus at night.

That's what I thought, but I saw something the night before last, and the zombies were very real.

I mean some kind of monster. It wasn't long before the end of the night though.

It smelled pretty bad, and it was very, very strong.

These posts are relatively straightforward explanations of the situation at present, written by one of my associates.

We are still in the process of compiling a timeline, but this is the most recent update.

I am available for further questions at your convenience. And allow me to welcome you to the Doyleton precinct, Inspector Lunge.

I'm available all day. Would brunch be suitable?

Grey hair tied back, brown eyes, sideburns. One of the few men in the Institute over fifty who looks it.

I'll be sitting near the front of the cafeteria.

I think you might be a little outside your jurisdiction, Inspector.

A few people have already mentioned the usual primers. If you're looking for something specific, you might have more luck asking face to face. I usually do.

Unknown location. Generally assumed to be the East Coast of the United States, specifically, New England or the general area, but no confirming evidence has ever come to light. These assumptions are based off of the local landscape, forests and general style of Doyleton, although the place is obviously within the bounds of the Institute's influence, and may simply be a construct created for it.

Nothing exact. The staff have been careful to avoid anything that might let us pin down location conclusively.

The day staff are obstructive. The night staff are homicidal.

A pleasure to meet you, Herr Inspektor. My name is Miles Edgeworth, and I'm a prosecuting attorney.

My associate, M. Javert, has already given you the primer information that I've compiled. If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

Of course. I'm afraid my schedule is rather full for today, but we can speak tomorrow morning at breakfast?

I can't say I've had personal dealings with the BKA, but I've spent quite a bit of time in Germany and my family was involved heavily with the legal system.
