To any that might have been at the Institute last night

It's obvious something has changed. Were there any differences at the Institute last night? And was there anything said over the intercom? A description or transcript would be very helpful.

[Thumping and moaning sounds- someone trying to get into a room]

Male voice: I know it's you. You did this, you and whoever took you out of here. I'm not stupid. I'm not stupid. (repeated, murmured. Speaker is highly agitated)

[Fumbling]

Male voice: I guess you don't care anymore. About collateral damage. I always knew you were on your own side, you bastard.

[Sound of metal objects and objects dropping. The man curses]

Male voice: At least I would never stoop to

[Thumping stops. Sound of creaking and the moaning gets louder and louder. Sound of safety being taken off of gun]

Male voice: I was loyal.

[Sound of door breaking. Several shots are fired. A fight of some sort breaks out. The microphone is knocked to the floor in the struggle. The man cries out and there is a thump. Footsteps- not the first man's.]

Male voice: [laughs] You look worse than your dogs.

[Sound of glass breaking and a thump]

Male voice: [laughing still] Why? Revenge? You were always so short-si

[A crack and a cry of pain]

Male voice: I still have her! Her! Did your brain rot too? You can't get her if I'm dead!

[A silence. The man is grabbed (?) and whimpers]

Male voice: Neither can you.

Will that suffice?

[A pause]

Do you know who the male voice(s) may have belonged to? I only arrived here last night.

One of 'em has gotta be the Head Doctor's! No wonder the announcement was so weird this morning.

Aaah, thank you. That is very helpful.

The first is Martin Landel, the head doctor. The second might just be Alec Doyle, also known as Jack. A former partner of Landel's, then an adversary. We were all quite sure he was permanently dead.

Well. It sounds as though this 'Head Doctor' has been replaced.

I see. The 'Landel' of 'Landel's Institute'. Could you possibly tell me more about these two? Particularly Alec Doyle?

Landel has consistently displayed nearly all of of the traits of a Mad Scientist, or at least a mastermind with an increasingly tenuous grip on his situation. He has been acting increasingly erratic over the past few nights, as various problems presented themselves (faulty wiring in the intercoms, apparently being overworked, et cetera). It's really only a matter of time before personalities of this kind self destruct.

Doyle would leave a few items hidden throughout the Institute, their locations usually given through needlessly cryptic hints. He appeared twice in person, once posing as one of the 'patients', once at night to directly take requests for items from individuals. Before any of the items could be given, he was killed. It seems he has come back.

Thank you. Was it clear if his behaviour was caused by his own delusions or by some sort of outside stressers?

How did Doyle contact patients if not in person? Via the radios in the patient's desks? Also, is it currently known who 'killed' Doyle and how?

Outside stresses combined with a tendency to get overly invested in every problem. Delusions do not seem to have entered into his thinking except in what he thought about the prisoners here, which were generally expressed in gloating. Personally, I do not think he has been very good at his job.

Through the radios, yes. And it was Landel. Method unknown, but his body was apparently found.

Are they talking about Jill? Or is there another 'her'?

Possibly her, possibly someone else. There has been mention of another since before Jill ever became known to any of us, apparently used for leverage.

Leverage? As in she's a key to how the institute works, or one or both of them is attached to her?

Doyle at least was apparently attached to her.

Not necessarily. He may be dead, but that that unfortunately that never seems to stop the persistent.

Point taken. That hasn't seemed to have held Doyle back any, if that voice really was his.

You can say that again. And after last night, who knows how far these guys'll go to stay kicking? Besides, we don't know for sure that he actually died: it's a reasonable assumption, I guess, but the transcript doesn't prove it for sure either way.

I never believe anyone is dead until I disintegrate the body.

I concur. From the transmissions before Jill, there were a few instances of note; most of all this, from Landel:

"I'd have thought you'd figured it out by now. Really, you've let your brain degenerate without enough stimulation, haven't you? Not that I can't say the same of our dear, dear old friend. After all, they're the reason you turned on me, isn't that right? The reason you betrayed our cause?"

All indications seem to suggest that it was Doyle. It also seems that Landel was somewhere within the vicinity of the town referred to as Doyleton, where most of the prisoners were left for the night.

There were zombie hoards roaming the town. It was not the most pleasant experience.

No, there certainly isn't.

Yes. There were several more instances of referencing this individual. The only theory as to their identity that I can remember is that it may be referring the head nurse, Lydia.

Might be an idea for somebody to check the morgue tonight, if he doesn't come crawling back before then.

[Hesitation marks]

... so you would agree that there were zombies present in the town last night? I see.

[Even more hesitation marks before the handwriting finally returns to normal]

You think he transmitted the message across the intercom system from outside of the Institute? I'm not convinced. Last night I saw evidence that [hesitation marks] some kind of activity wasn't entirely restricted to the town: blood spatter mixed with mud in one of the hallways. I would suggest that someone was attacked oustide and came back inside looking for shelter.

That would be a useful task for someone to take up.
