So apparently there's this trip to "Doyleton" tomorrow, and even though there's been some mention of it, could the people who have already been there put the information in one place? What are we supposed to expect?

- How strict is the supervision?
- Is there a subway/train or any cars?
- Has anyone made a break for it?
- Are there any computer terminals?
- Are all the stores/restaurants American?
- Actually, does anyone have a map or something?

I went to New York City once when I wasn't very old, but other than that and movies or whatever, my knowledge is pretty much limited to Japan.

That's weird, are you saying there's no computers at all?? How do they check things out? I was also under the impression that there would be someone here capable of hijacking a car, but I guess if they were being watched too carefully....

Hm. In that case, think of the smallest Japanese town you're familiar with, and the kind of stores and such that would be there. That should give you some idea.

It's strange, but I didn't see a newspaper with a date on it while I was there, and the same goes for the library here. I assume there are televisions inside private residences, but I don't know how you'd look.

I think the fact that they're being watched too carefully is the exact reason why no one's tried - or succeeded if they did try - hotwiring a car and using that.

Uh. You said something about 1960-1980, and that's 20-40 years before I was even born, so... well, don't worry about it. I guess I'll see it when we get there.

I meant how the stores check out items- I've never been anywhere that doesn't have cash registers and an electronic credit system of some sort. How would they make transactions outside of the mentioned coupons? It seems like they're not even trying to make the place plausible.
