I miss chocobo.

...That is quite a large-looking moogle.

I know, right? Kinda neat, though. He made a great pillow.

So, going back to the subject at hand: chocobo, you were familiar with them?

Yup! There's a lot of 'em back home. Me n' my friends used to breed them for travel and races, and stuff. We had a whole bunch - yellow ones, blues, greens, four blacks, and two golds.

...Yours were colored? That's incredible! They're really such sweet-tempered creatures. Well, except for the cocks, they could be a bit snippy.

Yeah! And the differently coloured ones were better adapted to certain terrains. Have you ever been kicked by one of the wild ones?

I wonder what sort of conditions it would take...

Yes, I regret to say my years as a squire saw me kicked many times. Breaking them in was exhilarating, though.

It's been a while, but from what I remember it was based on both the aptitude of the birds and what feed you used for 'em.

Oh, oh! And I nearly forgot about the white baby chocobo we saw in Mideel. That one really was cute.

You should try racin' em, if you haven't already!

Racing them was the sport of choice up until the war. It's popular in the Southern continent, but only because that's where the Empire originates from and thus, is the safest area to lead a normal life.

I do look forward to racing across the plains again myself, however.

The world was ending and people still found time to race chocobo. In hindsight that is both kind of hilarious and kind of lame. At least we got plenty of gil out of it.

Try racing through valleys and down mountain trails, too. Seriously. It's the best.
