See? Before your strength even a drive as strong and primeval as the desire to preserve one's own life is meaningless. Only in submission, by abandoning one's will and purpose, is there hope for survival.

It is not meaningless! I do not revel in any of the deaths I have caused. I have never killed when the other has chosen to walk away or stand aside.

Darkness, after all, is the fear of the inhuman. That includes our own inhumanity.
