What is your definition of a friend? Do you consider them as companions, teammates, or someone important?

I think that friends are people who care about you and worry about your wellbeing.

I think you've got it pretty much down. Though that does make you wonder about just where the line is between a friend and someone you know. There were lots of girls at my school who wanted to hang out with me or look up to me, but only a few ended up being close enough for me to think of them as friends. Same with certain members of our Student Council that I've gotten to know lately.

Also, to the people say that friends aren't necessary: maybe not technically, but life's a lot less rich without them, I'd say. So much less so that I'd say you're barely living if you don't have any friends.
