You can't be born a telepath and manage to hide it. You'd have to be able to control it from birth, and no telepath I've ever even heard of is that good.

It's more like being in a full stadium, save that every conversation within is at full volume regardless of distance. Most born telepaths grow up having seizures from the overwhelming input, until they learn to cope or go insane - and very few learn to cope without training.
