Laboratory Safety [unsigned, blocky, precise handwriting]

Since the laboratory on the second floor appears to be a popular destination these days, I thought it would be good to put up a notice concerning Lab Safety, and other general safety advice.

Bio Hazards: Quite a few people get injured and bleed, but as mentioned in one of the monster information posts on a previous day, there are mind controlling parasites here. While it is unlikely that you will get said parasite from exposure to an infected patients blood, they have been known to spread via spores in the blood. In addition, there are likely a number of quite interesting viral agents in play considering we have people from so many different worlds. Avoid contact with other people's blood, particularly if you yourself are bleeding. Vampires, people with regenerative abilities, and the undead can disregard this. Avoid excessive contact with monster parts. While the staff disinfects wounds before the day starts, keeping them cleaned and washed is still recommended.

Chemicals: The chemicals in the chemical storage can be very dangerous, many of them can cause severe damage if they come in contact with human skin, and a large portion of them are fatal if consumed. The little containers that the chemical bottles sit in are quite important, they keep the chemicals from coming in contact with one another. A number of the chemicals in the chemical storage will react with one another in a manner fatal to most living things that are unfortunate enough to be in the room when the reaction happens. Do not take the containers that the chemical bottles sit in. Also, do not place chemical bottles in a sack. If you must take chemical bottles, it is advisable to store them in separate pockets and avoid fights.

Lab Equipment: Lab equipment should not be used as toys, though they can make suitable improvised weapons, use them at your own risk. Also, please leave the equipment alone for those that would be putting it to the use for which it was intended.

Syringes: Never use a used syringe. If you must use a syringe, it is preferable to use one still in it's original unopened wrapper.

Bio Hazard Suits: In case of an emergency, there are protective suits available on the second floor to prevent contact with harmful microscopic organisms and chemicals. When working in the lab at night it is advisable to wear such a suit. Those who like to be prepared may be interested in storing one in their room, just in case.

One final note: If you have no idea what something is because there is no label on the bottle, container, etc. Do not use it. Contact a professional, and treat any unidentified substances with caution.

About THIS? Yes, I am. Other topics, I will concede I may be a bit touchy about.

We will not discuss these topics on this board again. OK?

Lighten up, and stop taking me so damn seriously.

One piece of advice, 'cuz I like you. Keep this 'we will' and 'we will not' attitude up? And we will have a few problems.

Fine. I don't want you to bring that up again. Is that better?

[Strikeouts unreadable]

Good. Because it's not true.

Something I shouldn't have written in the first place.

[identity profile] thatdamnedninja.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
You've been doing that a lot lately. If you have something you want to say, say it!

[identity profile] mizuhomaiden.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
The consequences of saying it makes me want to not say it. I'm trying to work on this mind-mouth filter thing I tend to lack. Leave me alone, ok?

[identity profile] thatdamnedninja.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Consequences? Hate to say it, Mizuho, but you're kinda overestimating me if you think I actually care all that much.

Well, whatever. I guess I can sympathize. Back home, my foot's in my mouth more often than it's on the ground. :P

[identity profile] mizuhomaiden.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
It's not YOU I worry about when it comes to consequences of me saying anything. You're not the only one that likes to tease me incessantly here.

How's the foot taste, anyways?

[identity profile] thatdamnedninja.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Clamming up really ain't gonna help, trust me. Don't you ever just... I dunno, roll with it and give as good as you get?

Tastes like ninja. ♥

Usually, I do. Mostly. This just has some [inkblot] complications that make things different. It's a magic thing specific to my world, so I really can't explain it without making myself look really dumb.
