Puberty, depending on your sex, varies. However, it is generally known as the period in a girl or boy's life when she or he matures into her or his sexual prime. Girls begin to menstruate, their breasts increase in size (in preparation to feed offspring), and can become very moody due to hormonal imbalances. Boys have these same imbalances, which cause their voices to change involuntarily (low or high) as well as their genitalia. They may also be more aggressive and start to notice girls as something more than the other half of the species.

These are just some specific changes that tend to appear in most of the population, though. It depends on the person how strong or weak these effects are.
