Upon close examination of the information posted on the bulletin board yesterday, it has become clear to me that in order to utilize both this and the considerable amount of talent available among the patient population to the fullest, the formation of an organized information network is necessary. As you know, many individual groups dedicated to gathering information or persons fulfilling similar roles exist, but no efforts appear to have been made to connect and coordinate them all.

As such, I would like to request the assistance of everyone currently involved in information retrieval, organization, and distribution as well as those interested in becoming involved in those areas to create a network fulfilling this vital task. By pooling our resources and dividing up the various duties associated with maintaining this network in a sensible manner, we will be able to vastly improve the overall level of efficiency in patient and group efforts alike to understand the institute and apply that understanding to more practical pursuits.

The formation of this network is intended to support and supplement existing club activities rather than supplant them, so please do not feel as though any existing obligations you may have will interfere or be interfered with by contributing to these efforts.

As for what this network's duties will consist of, establishing what is already known will be the first. There is no point in starting with the unknown when what should be common knowledge hasn't been shared amongst the greater population, and from what I've seen, a large portion of you seem to be content to allow this ignorance on your fellow patients' parts to continue. To reiterate what others have said before me, we do not have the luxury of keeping secrets from one another, and so this practice must come to a end.

For this purpose, I and any who would seek to join me will be conducting surveys on this board covering the most immediately relevant topics: monster attributes, supply lists and locations, the discussion of other worlds and what can be learned from them, patient abilities and resources-- anything that can be used to further the interests of the population as a whole. Once this information has been gathered, it will be organized and posted on the board for all to see. The establishment of these baselines will serve as a launching point for more specialized projects and areas for consideration, which will then lead to more projects and so on and so forth. Naturally, these projects will be handled with more care than the initial surveys in order to keep them away prying eyes, but there is no reason why more general information should not be made public.

While this is an ambitious effort, I hope that at least some of you will see the merit in undertaking it. Creating this network will assist in furthering many goals, both group and individual, and with everyone on the same page for once, coordinating larger movements against those who would seek to imprison us will be a relatively simple matter.

I also aim to to use this network to facilitate communication between clubs, and so if the various group leaders and representatives could please lend their support and cooperation, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you all soon.

And how do we know you're the one to head up a project like this?

I have to agree with you on several of the points that you lay out. Indeed, one of your major points - namely that starting with the unknown when knowledge should be openly shared - is the reason I regularly post information for the newest arrivals here. No one should be in a place like this unaware of the dangers.

I'd like to meet with you to discuss this further. I'm afraid I have prior commitments during the day today, but if you're available tomorrow, I'd certainly be interested with speaking with you.

While I'm inclined to agree that we cannot yet trust your ability to lead a project of this caliber, I will withhold that judgment until I've seen this report of yours.

I do, however, agree with several points that you make. I've only been here a few days, so I'm just getting started with data collection, but it is a far better idea to have information readily available for the public, as well as forming a network to take care of it in an orderly manner.

I would also like to meet with you for further discussion, and would be interested in participating in something like this.

The more information I can get my hands on, the better! Guess I'll wait and see if you're actually any good for this.

Not all information should be shared on this board. We share the information posted on this board with our common enemy. Open communication is a noble pursuit, but it is in execution where it fails more often than not.

Is there any way I can help?

You know, you'd probably have more people interested in this information network or whatever if you came up with a slightly shorter way of describing it. Just saying.

Anyway, I doubt any of us will be here much longer, cause my buddies and I are totally going to track down that head doctor guy and beat him up, but I guess I might as well volunteer for this anyway. You know, just in case.

I could help out with the passing messages around, once you get things going. I only woke up here, so I don't really know much yet. I guess I'll keep an eye out for you...?

Excellent. As valiant as individual efforts might be, I agree no one group or person can accomplish too much by themselves. A combined effort and overlying network may be exactly what this place needs. Provided this is done successfully, it will be quite the help.

You have my full support on this effort. I will offer a hand in whatever way possible, Herr Lamperouge.

Impressive. A network like this could benefit us greatly; in fact, I'm surprised there isn't one already. Regardless, I am interested in a place where any, if all, information can be gathered and submitted. This isn't the time or place to be hiding anything, after all.

Please do consider me for this effort.

Good idea (if a little college thesis length) but I don't know if people are going to be that willing to let everyone know their secrets.

I mean, I'm sure even you have things you wouldn't tell others?

An ambitious project, to be sure. I believe another patient by the name of Mello was attempting something similar, but I have not heard anything from him recently. His old notes are still here; perhaps you can use them as a starting point.

In any case, I shall be watching your endeavor with some interest.

Is there anything in particular you'd like me to survey and keep track of? Also, I've noticed a lot of people already use the board to gather information about certain things, but obviously they're just doing it for their own knowledge. Maybe we should try to coordinate those inquiries so everyone can have those questions answered -- like make different posts under headers for different topics, and have everyone share whatever information or ask any questions they have. I know that's kind of what you're doing, but I was thinking more of a guided discussion than a survey. It would help new people keep up to date with old information, too, so everyone could focus on doing new research. Sort of like a way to supplement the system you're going to use to distribute information.

It might also be a good idea to group people according to skill sets, since there are so many different types of people here. Like this (http://community.livejournal.com/damned_bulletin/404024.html) [he's drawn an arrow], but people who have experience gathering information or doing other things, too.
