What do you do if you've given up everything to destroy hunt find this one person thing and you gave up everything for it but then it stops you from seeing what's in front of your slagging face and

What if it gets someone hurt? What if it means losing something bigger for someone else? What if it's taken away from you and then you don't have anything left?

What if you can't trust yourself anymore? What if you were so sure but now you just don't know???

Does it count if they stop fighting back before you strike the final

You put one foot in front of the other and keep moving.

No it doesn't. The point is you keep moving, because if you stop, you'll never get going again. The destination will arrive on its own.

Sometimes the destination doesn't matter, but the journey there. And you can't be sure. You'll never be sure. You just keep moving. To stop, in this situation, is to welcome a fate worse than death.

Sounds like someone's been hitting the fortune cookies there.

That's a depressing fortune cookie.

You face up to it, and keep going anyway.

There's always something left to fight for.

Okay, then, you don't keep going, and never find a reason to fight again.

If you're in a hard place, you either move or shatter.

You figure out why you were doing it in the first place, and if you can still serve that cause another way.

[identity profile] superdynamic.livejournal.com 2009-02-18 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You make sure that nothing like that can happen to anyone else, ever again.

By trying hard enough. And doing whatever it takes.

Let me know when you find the answer.

In a manner of speaking.

[so very anon, much more deliberate and clean than usual]

If you only have one purpose in your life, you shouldn't need to worry about why you are doing it. If something gets in your way, get rid of it or go around it.

If you're trapped somewhere you can't get to him it, escape.

If you aren't seeing what's in front of your face, it must not be important to your goal.

[the pen has been held in one place without moving long enough to bleed a spot onto the page]

If you destroyed him, your mission is complete. If that's not good enough, and you can't let him even maybe be alive, then it's the same as before.

To make sure he wasn't rebui revived, you have to escape or find out how we were brought here. That's all you can try to do. That's all anyone can do here, isn't it? So maybe it doesn't matter why you're trying to escape, or if it's possible.

You find some resolution in it all. You find something else to fight for. And you move on. You can't live in the past. It does no one - least of all you - any good.

You don't pretend it didn't happen. But you acknowledge it, acknowledge that it hurt, and then get up and move on. The one left behind...they wouldn't want you to be stuck in the past, I don't think. It's okay to focus on finding the one responsible and getting back at them, but don't let it consume you. It's easy to fall into that black hole, but if you do, you don't come out.

Re: [anon]

[identity profile] fourtharcana.livejournal.com 2009-02-19 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
That's right. I don't think you - or the one that's being referenced - want that.

If you have to deal with thoughts like these, it means you're too weak. If you have a goal, you complete it, no matter what. It doesn't matter how many people you hurt during the process or if you lose yourself. You finish it no matter what. Anything else and you're just a pathetic loser.
