If you'll forgive me asking, but how did you know you were supposed to wake up again after your death? That seems against the nature of death itself...

It's kind of - well, not kind of weird, but a lot weird. I'll explain it as best I can, though.

In the world I'm from, there's this thing called the Reapers' Game. You can only play it after you die. It involves going through seven different missions. If you successfully survive the week and complete all the missions, you get the chance to come back to life.

My partner and I won the Game, but...only one of us - me - got to come back. Neku said he'd play again. And the last thing I remember was moving up into this white light, like I was moving back up to the real world...and then I woke here instead.

So...that's how I'm sure I was supposed to wake up again. It's definitely weird.

What you describe to me sounds like a human Afterlife of some sort... although the ability to come back to life certainly sounds appealing. Unfortunately I'm not sure my species has any such equivalent.

It's something like that. But...yeah. It was a hard week. I'm not sorry I went through it, but...it was difficult.

I'm...I don't know whether to apologize or not for you not having something similar back home. On the one hand, I'm glad that I had the chance to come back. On the other, it ended here...
