Hello, prisoners of Landel's!

This is a message about old-fashioned recipes.

There are already organizations dedicated to Cooking in weird and mysterious ways, using just metal tubes and that kind of thing. I think maybe the History club also has people doing this now, I'm not sure.

But lots of people here can't do that! Instead, we're used to making ~~weapons~~ dishes in the old fashioned sense, with just our hands and the ingredients and some tools! On the short term, this takes longer, and it might not be as efficient as bringing together a pile of metal and instantly getting an order that night, but on the long term, I think we can make larger and more powerful ~~weapons~~ dishes if we work together.

I've seen other people talking about this kind of cooking before, and I know lots of people here are from different places and know about how to work with different levels of technology. Some of the people here know a lot about ~~gunpowder~~ one dish I specialize in, but don't know how to make it themselves. Other people know different chemical combinations that are really ~~dangerous~~ tasty.

The resources here are so limited, especially chemicals and tools. Instead of multiple people working on little projects, competing over creating separate stockpiles of ingredients and items, a lot of people working together in tandem for bigger projects could create much better things using all of our resources!

I don't know if what I'm proposing would be a formal Club, since I think it'd be important to make sure everyone was communicating with everyone else. But at least a more formal organization.

If you have talents like this, or if you're interested in that kind of dish instead of a magical instant sword, please let me know here or in person! I'm easy to find because of my long and handsome nose.

I'm always interested in learning about new clubs, especially ones catering toward the cooking side. I've little experience, but I'm a fast learner should you like an extra hand.

Sure! Spare hands are always helpful, and a lot of this stuff only takes a little practice to get the hang of. Do you want to meet personally sometime during a day shift, or would you feel okay with meeting somewhere with some other people during a night shift to talk more bluntly about things?

I'm for it! I'm in Cooking, too, but the oven only works for one dish a night and all that.

All right! That sounds great. I understood it was pretty hard doing the fancy Cooking.

We could meet in person and talk about what kind of stuff you're interested in building, or we could meet some night with some other patients and just all talk or compare ideas and what we've already got on hand.

As we discussed, I can provide ingredient lists for those interested in the less common recipes. I'm up for doing the mixing, but I'll need glass bowls or vials and airtight glass containers.

Ingredient lists'll be really helpful. We've got the start of some, but not everything we need. We'll also need to eventually figure out how to divide up equipment and items.

For now I mostly want to see how many other people are interested and what they want to bring to/take from the exchange.

As I mentioned before, I'd be interested in learning a few new dishes. I have some ingredients, but I'd appreciate learning from a master chef.

Sure. We've already met during daytime, but some night shift (probably not tonight) I'd like to organize a bigger meeting of the people who want to participate. I want to know what everybody has and what they want and what they can do, basically. Then it'll be easier for us to decide on how to aim for specific dishes, and who should be doing what.

Sorry about never making it to your room last night, by the way-- getting my friend away from his roommate was... difficult.

On the kinda-upside, another old friend has shown up, of the "unflaggingly loyal" kind (I kinda helped his species to not go extinct). Also a big fan of... heavily spiced dishes (y'know, the kinds that're explosions of flavor?), and quite the expert with cutlery. Sometimes a little too quick to start carving things up, but that may not be a bad thing, in this place.

What if you're not very experienced in the making of [pencil taps] dishes? Er...what sort of payment would be required for a ~~knife~~ gourmet sandwich?

Well, if you just want cutlery... you're probably better off asking the Cooking organization. Or just looking for sharp things around the Institute. They specialize in making those to order, and I think the payment is just bringing the metal and waiting. I haven't talked to the guy in charge of that for a long time, though, so I can't promise anything.

The Cooking group sometimes posts on the bulletin board here, and Colonel Roy Mustang was in charge of them as far as I know. Someone else might be willing to make you something too, but those guys seem the most organized for sharp stuff.

I'm interested in what sort of recipes you have in mind, especially your specialty. Back home, I wasn't really much of a cook, but I was really fond of something like your specialty, if it's what I think it is. Is there any time that we could meet up?

I am capable of synthesizing not only the inferior compounds you ~~flesh-cre~~ humans use in your weaponry, but also some of the more advanced and far-more elegant munitions we use on Cybertron. Do you have a sense of the variety of chemicals that can be found in this place?

Some. We don't have a full list, there are still areas that might have chemicals that might be useful. That's another thing we need to get...

But there's other people from advanced times and places here too. I know a lot of people here are from a place that's more advanced than what I'm used to. That's why I thought it'd be good for people to come together, so the simple stuff I know that might be easier to make and advanced stuff like you might know can both be made.

This seems very interesting, and even though I am far more used to combat than I am the sciences at this point in my existence, I nevertheless wish to enlighten your organization with my presence and expertise. I shall assist in any way I can, Captain.

Both are useful, so thanks for offering! If you want to meet with me to discuss the sorts of things you were thinking of working with, or how you'd like to help, I'd be happy to.

But I'd really like this to not be too formal an organization. I mean... I'm posting this message, but... mostly I just want all the people who are working on stuff like this to be talking more regularly to each other. I don't even think I'm the 'leader,' so I can't say someone's co-leader.

Yes, I think meeting you would be quite amenable. When would you propose we do so? I have no specific plans for the foreseeable future.

Any time tomorrow would be fine. I'm easy to spot because of my long nose (well, it sticks out for a human... it's very easy to tell.) I'll be looking for people who wanted to talk to me, too. If that doesn't work out, then maybe we can schedule one of the periods day after tomorrow to meet.

I hope you weren't writing dirty words at me or anything.

That's always been the idea. Give more or Hitsugaya-taichou a yell some time since there's no good reason to have any clubs runnin over each other. We all got the same goals, I'd bet.

Well, yeah, but I don't really want to make a club, I'm already loyal to my crew. Plus I'm already talking some with people who are members of various clubs. Mostly I just want to talk to other specialists about this, so, like you said, we don't all run over each other or start doing the same thing and wind up accidentally competing when there's no need to.

I've talked to Colonel Mustang from Cooking since he seemed to be in charge of 'weapons,' but I could talk to you or Hitsugaya-taichou too if it makes you feel better about this. Still, I figured if you guys weren't in charge of the actual chemistry or weapon design, you might not really know who is taking exactly what or why, and all of us might not know what kind of bigger projects could be possible. I should be free all day tomorrow and I'm really easy to find (I have the biggest nose; once you find someone who has to have the biggest nose, that will be me) if you want to talk about it more.

I'm not too worried about it either way. Just, like a club's a good way to keep people from workin against each other, if the clubs keep in touch we know we're all movin in the same direction.

Sure. Feel free to come talk to me; long nose, handsome, blah blah. If it's Cooking, they can't use alchemy to make it, I know; I asked them at first too. I think it's too complex.
