It seems I will be unable to join you tonight after all. I have been informed that it is my turn to meet with one of the 'cooks', as they call them. I have to gather materials and meet with her, and I don't know how long it will take; I don't feel right asking you and your companion to wait for me.
But this means that tomorrow night I should be properly equipped at last, and will be able to be of more help than I could before. I hope that will make up for my absence tonight.

Do you think you might be able to accompany me tonight as I gather the required materials? I fully understand if you have your own plans or simply do not wish to accompany me on a purely selfish errand, but your assitance would be appreciated if you are available.
