He said that he does not remember being Conditioned, that he's always been like this. However, he was shaking as he said it. Before that, when I asked him if the "real Mero" was still there, he said that he was Mero, but there was something else at the back of his mind, "like an itch I can't scratch." I believe tha this may be proof that Shadow's conscious mind has not been done away with entirely. It may be trapped somewhere, but it isn't gone.

That makes sense. Even conditioning back home doesn't completely destroy the slave's personality and mind. It just...impedes it. And it isn't uncommon to not remember the conditioning, from what I understand.

I spoke with a friend of mine who mentioned some names of people I should speak with, in regards to these situations. I'm going to try to contact them before the midday meal.
