Shakespeare and the War of the Roses are two topics vastly separated by the gap between fiction and non-fiction.

Only thing I know about that stuff is what I've read out of plays. A little murder and some stupid jokes make history more interesting.

Historically, the War of the Roses was a series of civil wars fought over the throne of England between the red rose (Lancaster) and the white rose (York). Eventually the warring groups were brought together despite their differences under the Tudor Rose (both red and white) through the marriage of Henry the VII and Elizabeth.
