No. The concept of escape, per se, is not a false hope. However, it makes it far more difficult to find important messages on this board when people clutter it with pointless rubbish, such as this, this, this, and especially this. How do any of these contribute to the goal of escape?! All they do is waste valuable space on this board that could be used for more practical matters.

Having hope is neither delusional or "fun and games". The truth of the matter is, if we keep being so serious about everything we're going to crack faster than if we didn't take the time to relax.

I am glad to hear that. The presence of kindness, or lack thereof, seems to be of great concern in these notes, but I suppose it is understandable after seeing displays of insensitivity. One wishes to assert themselves as being of a different nature.

I don't think I'll ever understand why people do what they do here. But, maybe you're right; maybe they're just trying to puff themselves up so they look different. It hasn't always been the case, though; for those of us who've been here a very, very long time, I think some of us look forward to being kind to the new ones. At least, I do.

I believe some are cruel in order to feel powerful, and others in order to protect themselves. I find both possibilities to be sad. Though I cannot accurately comment on the personality of the population as a whole, no one has been unkind to me so far. So for that and to others like yourself, I am grateful. I am one of the new ones you have mentioned, it seems.

When they let us out back, I don't remember smelling anything like ocean. No birds or anything either. Maybe a water park. Would they build something like that near a hospital?

Seals are so adorable! They're my boyfriend's favorite animal.

There is a small lake outside, but there was nothing in it. There should be a water park somewhere. They should let us go on a fieldtrip there instead of being cooped up in here!
