[written very carefully with small letters]

Were you killed before you came here?

Were you in mortal danger before you woke up here?

If you were returned to your home, would you return to a dead body?

My entire planet was destroyed while I was on it. Not only am I almost certain that I'm dead, but I don't even have my world to go back to, much less my body.

I wasn't planning on it. But I promised my friends that I would return to our world with them, no matter what.

I just have my doubts that it will end well.

No. In fact, I have one friend that remembers a rather different series of events from the rest of us - he remembers my not even being on our world when it died, while the rest of us know for a fact that I was there.

[hastily written.]

That's not true! You've got a body here, and I've set foot on your planet myself.

Here, maybe, but I doubt my body survived the destruction of Expel intact - and if I were simply sent home in this body, there would still be no planet there.

And setting foot on it before it was destroyed means nothing regarding its existence now.

But you've got your body here, Dias. How can you say it's been destroyed when you're here, in one piece? What makes you think the body you've got now isn't the same one you had on Expel? Are you hiding

As for Expel, I mean I stepped foot on it after its destruction. It was restored to the way it was before all of that happened. I mean, I know I'm the only one who remembers all this, but...

[there is an ink blot, as if the writer had kept it in one spot for awhile, debating on what to write next. After that, there is nothing.]

Whether or not the body that must have been destroyed along with Expel is the same as this one or not is irrelevant.

Maybe you did. But what happens to me if I wasn't there when it was restored? If I died, and I wasn't there to be restored along with the rest of the planet because I was here...

Your optimism serves you well, Claude, but you can't tell me with any certainty that you know what fate awaits me when I go back.

How is that irrelevant, though? You just said your body got destroyed along with Expel, but if your body is really the one you have now, then why is that even an issue?

Stop saying ridiculous things. You're here now, and that's what matters. I doubt you'll just suddenly fall apart or disappear if we leave this place. There's no proof that would happen. How would that even work?

I'll admit I'm not sure about a lot of things right now, but I know you're alive, and I know there is always something worth living for.
