It seems someone else has already posted about this, but I wanted to reiterate that going into the basement's South Hall is fatal. If you take this path, someone in your group will die. It happened to a patient last night, and it can happen to you.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's wise to go into anymore details, but you'll heed this warning if you value your life.

If you want to leave a warning like that, you sure as hell better leave more details if you don't want someone thinking it's a bluff. Anyone can put stuff up here, right? That includes the one in charge and any of his lackeys too.

This is no bluff.

Don't you think it's awfully convenient that there are artifacts for us to collect in hopes of finding what's beyond the southern hall? If Landel didn't want you to go wandering around down there, he'd use more extreme measures than a mere note on the bulletin.

In actuality, the basement is a trap, and he wants us to walk right into it.

What concerns me is the fact you ignore that someone died so you can go asking questions about someone who isn't even in the South Hall.

What happens to others is most certainly everyone's concern. In the end, it has some bearing on us all. You can expect to meet the same fate as the man who died last night should you or your allies venture there in the future.

I don't plan on dying. Neither do I plan on staying here for much longer either. So unless you actually give some damn details, I'll be taking my chances.

No one in my group planned on dying either. But once you spring the trap, you lose any choice in the matter.

If you have such little regard for what happens to you, then I stand by my reasons for not giving out more details.

I can't stop you from taking any chances, but just remember that luck does a dead man very little good.

All I'm getting from you not saying anything is that you're refusing to admit that someone wasn't strong enough to stop this and wound up dead for it. Don't give warnings if you're too much of a coward to explain exactly what happened down there.

I've said plenty. If you go into the basement's south hall, someone dies, and you lose any say in the matter. What you do with that information is ultimately up to you.

If your intent is to make this public knowledge, perhaps you should think of a way to do so by keeping the details intact. Otherwise, this is unhelpful.

I think I've divulged the most important details. I have my reasons for being vague, and, if I didn't want to, I wouldn't even have had to tell you this much.

But there is one fact that remains clear: going into the South Hall will result in certain death.

Whether you want to risk your own life, or the lives of your friends and allies, is entirely up to you. In the end, I cannot stop you. I can only give you this warning.

At this point, I don't particularly care whether people think I'm doing them a favor or not. My only concern is making sure others don't fall into the same trap. Others may disregard this message, but it won't be because they didn't have any warning.

Clubs have already been sending teams down there as it is. If there's a sudden stampede for the basement just because someone says it's a trap, then I suppose that just shows how incredibly desperate people are becoming.

Even if only one person takes pause, it's better than leaving everyone completely in the dark.

The only problem with that argument is that you are leaving everyone completely in the dark.

Not anymore in the dark than if I just hadn't said anything at all.

Believe me, I'm not being vague about this because I think it's fun. Since this is a public forum, more details would be more of a hazard than anything else.

That's why I said think of another way. Otherwise, I definitely won't be thanking you for the added work. Now I'm going to need extra people just to send them in there to see what happens.

Unfortunately, this place has a way of limiting the way things can be done. I'm sure you've noticed that by now.

And I've already made it clear I'm not looking for your thanks. You can send people in your stead if you'd like, but they've still got to agree to it and make the effort to get there. This message's been posted, though, so if some choose to go anyway, that's entirely their business.

I know, I know, you're not looking for anybody's thanks, you're just demonstrating more of this place's ineffectiveness. I can see that for myself. But if you were really interested in giving away the facts, you wouldn't say that. There's always a way.

We were thinking of going that way eventually. I'm going to need something more explicit to talk to my friend with. He's the one who thinks it's a good idea to go.

I can ask what it is you want to know, but I can't promise you straight answers. If I give anymore details, it very well could guarantee more deaths.

I will vouch for O.K. If he says it is dangerous and promises that one of your group's members will die, he should be taken at his word. I don't believe the point is to strip every detail from the situation--if he says it is dangerous we as patients should avoid it.

You can avoid it all you like. Some geniuses prefer to know rather than remain ignorant.

And some geniuses know when it benefits them to keep their nose out of a bear trap.

Only the frightened and the weak, perhaps. If the threat of death is enough to stop someone, they don't deserve their freedom.

Provided that what is offered is freedom. Better frightened and weak than foolish and dead. Unless the freedom you seek is death, in which case there are plenty of other ways to indulge yourself.
